TIKA Established Robotic Laboratory and Agricultural Greenhouses in Lebanon

The projects carried out by TIKA in many parts of the country and especially in Sayda are an indication of this." BEIRUT (AA) - Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has installed a robotic laboratory and 3 hydroponic agricultural greenhouses in Sidon, Lebanon.




Türkiye's Ambassador to Beirut Ali Barış Ulusoy, TIKA Lebanon Coordinator Orhan Aydın, El Raya Association President Fuad Cardali, Mufti of Sayda Selim Susan and many Lebanese citizens attended TIKA's project openings in Sayda.

Speaking at the opening of the robotics laboratory established by TIKA within the science center of the El Raya Association, Cardali, President of the El Raya Association, said, "As the Association, we carry out various activities in Sayda, especially in education, with many organizations. And this laboratory project, which will play a significant role in preparing young people for the future and equipping them, is coming. We are grateful to the Republic of Türkiye and TIKA for their assistance on this occasion."

Ambassador Ulusoy also said, "As Türkiye, we continue to provide all kinds of support to the people of Sayda and Lebanon. The projects carried out by TIKA in many parts of the country and especially in Sayda are an indication of this." said.

3 Hydroponic Farming Greenhouses in 2 Regions

A hydroponic agriculture project, which is a form of agriculture practiced in stagnant water culture without soil, was carried out by TIKA in cooperation with the Lebanese Association of Assistance and Development Associations (URDA) and the Islamic Society, which mostly carry out activities for the benefit of refugees in the city of Sidon.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA) about the project, TIKA Coordinator Aydın gave the information "With the project, 2 hydroponic agricultural greenhouses established especially for Syrian refugees in Bekaa region and 1 for Lebanese in Sayda region. These greenhouses save water, space and time compared to conventional agriculture, as well as higher productivity compared to classical agriculture.”

Aydın said, "With the project carried out by TIKA, production is carried out throughout the year, training is provided to refugees and Lebanese, and the products grown are distributed to those in need."
